"Chain Breaker"

Have you ever heard a song several times before and then one day the Lord just speaks to you through it...like never before? This morning, as I drove to work, Zach Williams' song "Chain Breaker" came on the radio. I have heard this song so many times before, it's even my husband's ring tone...and if you know my husband, his phone is always ringing...so I hear it a lot! But today was different...it spoke to my soul, made me smile, and gave me a reason to rejoice! As I listened to the song, the words just stuck out today, they rang in my head and washed over my heart...I REALLY HEARD what it said. And as I drove and listened, God spoke to me and I'd like to share it with you. But before I do, I want you to watch the lyric video below and read the words as he sings. Really think about what it says as you listen.

"If you've been walking the same old road for miles and miles.
If you've been hearing the same old voice tell the same old lies.
If you're trying to fill the same old holes inside...
There's a better life!
There's a better life!"

How many of us have felt like our marriage can be the same ole crud, just a different day? The same fight, the same disagreement, the same old sin that keeps creeping in...The same pain from past hurts, the same old void that has haunted us for a long time. LONELINESS, SIN, HURT, SHAME, GUILT, ADDICTION, DEPRESSION, CONTROL, LOW SELF-ESTEEM, WORTHLESSNESS...there are so many different "LIES" that we struggle with on a daily basis. And that's exactly what they are...LIES from satan himself, the father of lies. We have all felt the heaviness of some or all of these chains at some point in our lives. We have all had times in our marriages when we feel like we want to just run away, find greener grass, or quieter fields. We have ALL been there to some extent. But here comes the best part...

"We've all searched for the light of day in the dead of night.
We've all found ourselves worn out from the same old fight.
We've all run to things we know just ain't right,
When there's a better life!
There's a better life!"

"If you've got pain--He's the PAIN TAKER
If you feel lost--He's the WAY MAKER
If you need freedom or saving--He's a prison-shaking Savior
If you've got chains--He's a CHAIN BREAKER!"

THERE IS HOPE! THERE IS A GOD WHO LOVES YOU, AND HE CAN DO ALL OF THESE THINGS IN YOUR MARRIAGE, YOUR LIFE, YOUR HEART!

Acts 16: 26 says this--"Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of their jail was shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's chains came loose."

If the Lord can shake the foundations of a jail and loosen the chains of His servants while they praised Him in their circumstances, then He can certainly do the same for us! He CAN set us free from WHATEVER CHAINS ARE BINDING US!

HE CAN: Heal that hurt that haunts you from your childhood!
HE CAN: Remove the guilt and shame from past sin and mistakes--no matter what they are!
HE CAN: Drag you out of that pit of depression!
HE CAN: Restore your self-worth and self-esteem!
HE CAN: Free you from ANY addiction!
HE CAN: Bring life back to your marriage!
HE CAN: Heal you from that sickness!

HE IS: the PAIN TAKER
HE IS: the WAY MAKER
HE IS: the PRISON-SHAKING SAVIOR
HE IS: the CHAIN BREAKER

It's going to take some work on YOUR PART as well.
1st- Believe He can do it!
2nd- Give "IT" (whatever it is) to Him so He CAN do it.
3rd- Find a good CHRISTIAN friend or mentor that can pray with you about it and give sound advice.
4th- Work on it--Seek counseling, read books, read THE BIBLE
5th- PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
6th- Be willing to work on YOU as well.
Last- PRAISE HIM FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS

Praise Him today for what He is going to do in your marriage or your life from this day forward. Praise Him that you survived what ever it is that has got you wrapped in chains, and Praise Him for breaking those chains and restoring your marriage, your life, your soul, your heart.

Psalm 95: 1-2 says--"Come let us shout joyfully to the Lord, shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation! Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout triumphantly to Him in song!"

THANK YOU LORD FOR BREAKING CHAINS, HEALING MARRIAGES, AND STOMPING ON THE DEVIL'S LIES!!!
